Frequently Asked Questions
What is a vaccination clinic?

A vaccination clinic is a service we provide the community where you may come into the clinic without an appointment for vaccinations and preventative
care products for your dog or cat at discounted prices.

How long will the wait be?

Our vaccination clinics are very popular.  We often see 200 to 300 pets a day.  We try to move the line along as quickly as possible, but there is always a wait.  Keep
in mind there will be many other dogs and cats in the clinic at the same time as you.
For your pet's safety, we must insist you bring them on a leash or in a carrier.  If you
do not have a leash or a carrier, you may purchase one at the clinic.

Why come to a vaccination clinic?

We discount our prices during this special event to make it as affordable as possible to help people keep their pets healthy.

Can I schedule an appointment during the vaccination clinic?

No.  We only hold a limited number of these vaccination clinics.  We do not schedule any appointments during these dates in order to accommodate as many pets as
possible at our discounted prices.

Can I get an exam from the doctor during the vaccination clinic?

Yes.  Wellness exams will be provided at a significant savings.  However, if your pet is diagnosed with an illness at the time of the exam, you will need to
schedule an appointment during regular business hours.  This is so the doctor
may spend the time necessary to treat the problem appropriately.
A regular exam fee will be charged at the time of the scheduled appointment,
however
the fee you paid at the vaccination clinic for the wellness exam will
be deducted from your bill.  You must bring your pet in within 15 days of
the vaccination clinic with the exam sheet that was given to you to qualify
for this discount.
If your pet is ill, he/she may not be given the requested vaccinations, at the
discretion of the doctor.  This is because the vaccinations may complicate the
illness.  You will be refunded immediately for any items you did not receive.

Why do I have to have an exam and a heart worm test in order to
purchase heart worm preventative?

All heart worm preventatives are prescription medications.  Federal law
dictates that we must perform an exam before any prescription medications are
dispensed.

What is included in a wellness exam?

A wellness exam is comprised of several different evaluations of your pet's health.  These include the following:
  • Ears
  • Eyes
  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Skin
  • Teeth
  • Hips
  • Knees
Should any of these appear abnormal, it will be noted in your pet's medical chart
and you will be requested to schedule an appointment during regular business
hours to determine how to treat the abnormality.  At the time of your
appointment,
the fee for the vaccination clinic wellness exam will be
deducted from your bill as long as the appointment is scheduled within 15
days of the exam.

What forms of payment do you accept at the vaccination clinic?

We accept the following:
  • Cash
  • Check
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Discover
Payment is due when services are rendered.  We do not offer any payment plans.  We thank you for your understanding.

Can I have a prescription filled at the vaccination clinic?
No.  The only prescription item we can fill during the vaccination clinic is Heartgard.  Due to the fast pace we must keep at our vaccination clinics, our
staff is unable to count out and fill regular medications for your pets at the
vaccination clinic.  If your pet is on regular medications, you should call the
prescription in before hand so we may have it ready for you when you come in.
Vaccination Clinic Procedures:

  1. You may arrive with your pets on scheduled clinic days between the hours of 2:00 pm
and 5:00 pm on Thursdays and between 8:00am and 11:00am on Saturdays.  Upon
arrival you will be given a number, and a vaccination information sheet.  Please fill out
completely and legibly.  We need this for your pet's medical record.  We will also
have available for purchase leashes or cardboard pet carriers if you are in need of
one.  We will not hand out any numbers after the scheduled close times for this
clinics.  If you arrive after close time you will not be admitted.
  2. When your number is called you will proceed to one of the  people at the front desk
for check out.  The receptionists will be able to assist you with deciding what
vaccinations and preventative care your pet will need.  You will be able to purchase
any product you need at this time, and you will pay for your pet's vaccinations.  Your
form will be highlighted and placed for technician pickup.  Be sure you get everything
your pet needs at that time.  If you need anything additional after you pay, you will
have to get another number and wait to be called.
  3. As soon as one of our technicians is available they will call your last name.  Once
you are in the room your pet will be given their vaccinations.
  4. You will then be directed to leave by the clinic's rear entrance.
